I haven't read the long VF hit piece on Sarah. I think I'll stick with the Cliff Notes version thoughtfully supplied by Jim Geraghty, and read RS McCain's several postings on it if I can psyche myself up. It's just so ugly.
I've tried to avoid the disturbing weirdness from Andrew Sullivan about the birth of Trig Palin. You'd think ignoring it might make it go away, especially eight months after the election. But no. He's still beating on this ghost of a dead horse. There's something very unhealthy going on here.
But RS McCain has drawn me in. So I've left a comment (pending approval) on his post, here, in case you're interested.
I'm a huge Sarah Palin fan and a fellow mom-of-many. In my mind she's the anti-Obama. To see her distorted, smeared, and diminished by the culture-of-death squad has been maddening and painful. The answers to the question 'Why do they hate her so much?' have been various, but often come down to her loving acceptance of her handicapped child. That even this baby has been targeted confirms for me that, to a great extent, the attacks on Sarah have been about her belief in the sanctity of human life. Trig is the living proof of that belief.
*Update: William Jacobson writes a definitive post on the Trig Palin birth "issue."
**Update: A battle is raging over the VF article:
Kristol cited a passage in Purdum’s piece in which “some top aides” were said to worry about the Alaska governor’s “mental state” and the prospect that the Alaska governor may be suffering from post-partum depression following the birth of her son Trig. “In fact, one aide who raised this possibility in the course of trashing Palin’s mental state to others in the McCain-Palin campaign was Steve Schmidt,” Kristol wrote.Sarah Palin, Gerald Walpin. We're all mentally unstable now. Except Joe Biden.

I think that your Audrey Hepburn "Contact-the-house-and-senate link" on the right sidebar is great. Keep up the good work.
Isn't she a doll? Thanks.
The other thing about Sarah Palin and giving birth to Trig..
What self respecting Alaskan woman would have a baby in Texas?
Pride, man, Pride.
(Nothing against Texas in general. But that woman is from Alaska)
I just read your comments over at The Other McCain, one word: BRAVO.
You're right that how Gov. Palin handles her pregnancy is none of our business. And it is equally none of Sullivan's business. But, yet, he just can't seem to stop himself. It causes me to wonder if he doesn't have major internal conflict with being both gay and Christian. The more weird noise he makes about Sarah Palin, the less likely it is that he or anyone else will notice his sexuality or his religion. Sure, he can't shut up about being gay, gay marriage and blah blah blah. But if people talk about him the first thing they are likely to say is, "Can you believe what he said about Palin?"
You're right, attacking Palin never gets old. That's because she's an utter imbecile, and it's fun seeing all the imbecile worshipers (i.e. conservative Republicans) foam at the mouth when we point that out.
Okay and the current POTUS is a well educated moron and it's fun to see the reaction of His Moroness and all the moronic worshippers (i.e jfransondto) when his stupidity and idiocy are pointed for all the world to see .

And you get to attack a woman without any of that nasty ol' guilt noramlly associated with it, don't you? And you get call the right kind of black guy (conservative) all sorts of racially derogatory names, and so forth... Classic.
The Left has re-ivented the selling of indulgences. Congrats!
