Is the tide turning?

Well, maybe a little.

The Waxman-Markey liberty-stifling economy-killing cap-and-trade energy tax has been put off by the Senate until September, because the votes just aren't there. If conservatives keep at it, I don't see how more time will improve its chances.

From Michelle Malkin, Pressure’s on: Senate Dems put cap-and-tax on ice:

Hey, GOP Cap-and-Tax 8′ers, feeling pretty stupid right about now?
I hope so. Losers.

Breaking: Senate postpones cap-and-trade: Ed Morrissey attributes this failure in part to Obama's falling approval rating. Mr. Morrissey cautions us not to let up:
Keep calling your Senators to tell them that a vote for cap-and-trade means adding to the unemployment lines — starting with themselves.
From Dan Holler for the Foundry:
Americans should seize on this delay by educating themselves on the follies of Waxman-Markey and sharing with anyone who will listen.
But do take a moment to celebrate this temporary victory.

Comments welcome.

I fear this the Democrats are just falling back on old tactic they've used so successfully in the past: hold off on bringing a controversial bill to a vote, wait a few months until other controversial issues have come to the forefront, put the screws to your members, and then bring the bill to a vote.

As we've learned the hard way since 20 January, we're gonna have to keep a close eye on these buggers [thank God for people like Michelle Malkin].

May I recommend an excellent book called "Heaven and Earth: Global Warming, the Missing Science" by Australian author Ian Plimer.

It is an excellent scientific examination of why the theory of Human caused Anthropomorphic Climate Change is seriously flawed and is an excellent resource to help people take on the environazi's trying to cram Cap and Tax down their throats.

I have mixed feelings on Cap and Trade. Passing it would lead to a major GOP landslide. Americans perhaps need to feel the pain before they gain.

This is proof that the GOP CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. The Republicans can raise the political cost of the Obama agenda to the point where the Democrats either throw in the towel or end up infighting too much to make progress.

Every single GOP Senator now needs to vote against Judge Sotomayor, and make clear that she is an out-of-mainstream extremist liberal judicial activist whose Ricci decision was wrong.

Every single GOP Congressman needs to say "Jobs First, Obamacare second" and demand a CONSERVATIVE stimulus and a delay to the job-killing Obama agenda - lower taxes, not the higher taxes that the ObamaCare supporters want.

The issue is jobs. The next job the Democrats kill could be your own.

Don't EVER think the liberal Democrats won't pass enough bad junk to scare the bejeesus out of mainstream America. Pelosi and Co. cant help it, its in their nature to tax-and-spend-and-regulate until they are stopped.

I think the Cheney attacks are a last ditch effort to get it through

If people get anti-Bush riled, they'll remember why they elected this clown and all will be well

Well it's taken less than 6 months for these disillusioned "deservatives" to blame Democrats for everything. You're absolutely right...the recession didn't start in December of 2007 under the previous President's watch. The bank bailout was definately Barrack Obama's idea and implementation back in October of 2008 before he was even elected as the bailout socialist pig that he was back then before being then now. The previous administration wasn't responsible for the largest government expansion in our country's history. The previous president didn't borrow more money than all previous 42 presidents combined. The republicans and deservatives didn't give us the second biggest political idiot in the history of our country as president for the past eight years and are now trying to give us the biggest idiot with Sarah Baraquitter.

Barrack Obama's poll numbers may be slipping but yours ain't going up at all. The other 90% of the country don't buy your re-write 8 years worth of history based on immature rantings, circle-jerking each other and smoking tons of crack. You caused this mess. Sit down and shut up.

That whole "sit down and shut up" thing? I apologize for that. It is not my place to state such things on your blog which have been so obviously stated by the entire country with the 2006 and 2008 election cycles. AWWW...TOO SOON?

I know Ed Morrissey is encouraging you to not "let up" buuuuuuuttttt.....it's the blue dog dems that are not letting up. Ed Morrissey and the GOP are really not a factor at all. We have a filibuster proof congress now because of your outstanding achievements and if Sarah Baraquitter is the face of your future...not a whole heck-of-a-lot of pressure there. Keep trying tho.
