Silence on the beating of Kenneth Gladney

For those who get their news from the mainstream media, here's what they missed:

After the President himself talked about getting in people’s faces when they oppose his policies and setting up snitch lines at the White House, the only shocker in this video is that it took so long for townhalls to turn violent.
Not much of a shocker, either, that the MSM, Obama, and our liberal Congress are ignoring this. They'd be playing it up for all it was worth if Gladney had been wearing a purple shirt. Some commentary:

Andrew Breitbart: I Am Kenneth Gladney

Excerpt:
Last week, a black gentleman named Kenneth Gladney went to a town-hall meeting hosted by Rep. Russ Carnahan, Missouri Democrat. While passing out "Don't Tread on Me" flags, he was viciously attacked by Service Employees International Union (SEIU) members. One called him a "nigger."

These union thugs were directed by the White House to go to the protests and "punch back twice as hard." And they did.

While the attack was captured on video and is available on YouTube, Mr. Gladney's horrifying story is absent from MSNBC's 24/7 media cycle. Mr. Krugman has yet to write about it. And Mr. Cooper has yet to condemn the attack.

From Mark Steyn:
Gotta love this "post-racial America": Democrat union heavies can beat up a black guy using racial epithets and leave him in a wheelchair unable to speak - and happily (unlike, say, a black professor being asked for picture ID) it's not "symbolic" of anything at all. Not a Sharpton in sight to speak up for him: Mr Gladney's only shot at fame is an entry in The Guinness Book Of Records under "Least Famous Black Hate-Crime Victim In America".
And Jim Treacher:
If Kenneth Gladney was an Obama supporter, right now he'd be more famous than Rodney King. Al Sharpton would have a whole rack of new suits.

Yes. But instead of the usual condemnations of violence and hate crimes, from the president on down, we're told that spirited dissent is un-American.

Comments welcome.
*Update: Gateway Pundit corrects the record on Kenneth Gladney, who's getting the usual treatment from the Left.

He was beat up by a black guy right? So really its just black on black crime you conservatives are always talking about. No racism there just one black guy beating up another.

Oh and I like how you guys just love blacks when their conservatives but when their liberals....well........ hang em high.

He was beat up? When? Not in that video.

Did he carve a letter in his cheek too?

Well, I can see that those recruiting ads on Craig'sList have gotten some trolls on the ground. How very trollishly typical, they cannot stay on topic but just start tossing baseless accusations. When the facts are against you, argue the law. When the law is against you argue the facts. And when you're one of Axelrod's trolls call everyone a racist (even if the topic under discussion is pancake recipes, the other guy is your enemy and he's a racist buttermilk lover).

I cannot believe the amnesia on the left. It seems their mantra of the past 8 years, "dissent is the highest form of patriotism," is passé now.

People are calling Gladney a conservative but I don't know about that. He was just a vendor trying to make a little money at this event. The racism came from the guy who called him the N word and strongly implied that a black man shouldn't be selling anything that doesn't support Obama. I don't know the races of all the people who attacked him and I couldn't care less. It's the MSM and our race-conscious president who make everything about race.
