Miscellany:
The View hags side with ACORN. Child brothels don't start themselves, you know.
(Stole that from husband.)
An early video by James O'Keefe. It's magically delicious.
The White House is full of cry-babies.
I don't believe this, either.
Or this -- absolute madness.
Two SNL Mad Men parodies on HULU: Don Draper's Guide, ******** Pitch Meeting
Fabulously retro.
Housekeeping notes: I've gone back to moderating comments. Sigh.* Also have added more MP3 clips (Frank has a widget all to himself now) and will add more.

I am concerned you don't believe the public educational system is producing illiterate people.
ReplyDeleteI spent twenty years taking statements and talking to two generations of witnesses, victims and suspects, the vast majority of them public school educated. It was so bad at times I had to literally tell them what to write and how to spell it. Phrases like "I seed them runing down the raod." were not uncommon.
It was so bad my wife and I decided to home school my two kids, even though we sacrificed a lot professionally. I told my wife it if we were to put my brilliant daughter into public school I might as well stick a crack pipe in her hand and a condom in her pocket.
My daughter, who is very focused and talented, is 14. She is taking Logic, Latin, geometry, Eng. Lit, Marine science. On Saturday, she volunteers at a nature center so she can learn to care for wild animals as her goal as a career is to become a wild life researcher for wolves.
She is also an amateur photographer. You can see some of her work at her site "Kaley's world" which is linked to mine- www.truthandcommonsense.com
I'll check out her site.
ReplyDeleteI'm no fan of gov't schools either. We've homeschooled our 7 kids. The George Washington question is a stunner, though. That is hard for me to get my mind around, though there was another recent test with results like this which I can't seem to find now.
Here's archer's blog.
ReplyDeleteI love the Mad Men take offs on SNL. You wrote a post on Mad Men a few weeks back that sparked my interest. Since then, I have been watching Mad Men like a mad woman.
ReplyDeleteI admire anyone who is able to home school. It wasn't something I thought I would manage very well however. I was very involved in my childrens' education though and we paid attention to what they were learning. They came through public school just fine. Having worked in schools as a counselor I was pretty aware of what areas they needed to be pushed on though.
