NPR has "concerns" over bias at FOX

NPR: Don't appear on FOX cuz they're biased:

Executives at National Public Radio recently asked the network’s top political correspondent, Mara Liasson, to reconsider her regular appearances on Fox News because of what they perceived as the network’s political bias, two sources familiar with the effort said.

According to a source, Liasson was summoned in early October by NPR’s executive editor for news, Dick Meyer, and the network’s supervising senior Washington editor, Ron Elving. The NPR executives said they had concerns that Fox’s programming had grown more partisan, and they asked Liasson to spend 30 days watching the network.

At a follow-up meeting last month, Liasson reported that she’d seen no significant change in Fox’s programming and planned to continue appearing on the network, the source said.

Yes, you read that right: NPR is accusing someone else of political bias. And though it did come up in the discussion, the contemporaneous White House war on FOX had nothing, nothing to do with any of this:
One source said the White House’s criticism of Fox was raised during the discussions with Liasson. However, an NPR spokeswoman told POLITICO that the Obama administration’s attempts to discourage other news outlets from treating Fox as a peer had no impact on any internal discussions at NPR.

  1. The fact that NPR exists is hard to accept. When did we get into the business of promoting government run entertainment and "news". Of course, the next logical step is to take over the newspapers and other sources of news.

If you think it can't happen and there isn't a horrendous idea read about Communist China and Mao last revolution. It is amazing how he manipulated the news, the arts (think NEA) and the politics to get what he wanted.

I'm working my way through a rather thick book on the subject. It may be the same one Beck held up on his TV show a month or so ago. Regardless, it is a frightening window into how a demi-god ran a nation into the ground and killed millions in the name of "Revolution and change."
