From 9/11 Never Forget:
THOUSANDS OF NEW YORKERS TO DESCEND ON FEDERAL COURTHOUSE AREA IN LOWER MANHATTAN ON SATURDAY TO PROTEST NYC TERROR TRIAL; AMERICANS WILL STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH 9/11 FAMILIES, FIRST RESPONDERS, MILITARY, AND TERROR VICTIMS TO CALL FOR REVERSAL OF CONTROVERSIAL HOLDER DECISIONAndy McCarthy believes this decision can be reversed. What: 911 Never Forget Rally
When: Saturday, December 5th, 2009 12:00 noon
Where: Foley Square
Who: The 9/11 Never Forget Coalition, a diverse group of 9/11 victims, family members, first responders, active and reserve members of the military, veterans, and concerned Americans, is holding a major rally on December 5th to protest the plan to bring the 9/11 terrorist conspirators to trial in New York City. The Coalition has united to fight the decision of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to try the 9/11 co-conspirators in New York City’s federal court, a decision effectively giving war criminals the same rights as American citizens while endangering the safety of all New Yorkers. The rally will be the first in a series of nationwide initiatives to demand reversal of the Obama Administration’s decision, which recent polls suggest is opposed by 59% of American voters.
The Coalition is joined by many organizations, including the Uniformed Retired Firefighters Association (URFA), which has called for its members to be present en masse at the Saturday rally: “Our fallen brothers and sisters, along with all the occupants of the WTC and aboard the aircraft, on September 11, 2001, were murdered by ‘illegal terrorist combatants’ and do not have the right to a ‘civilian criminal trial’: they should be tried in a military tribunal.”
This is not a fait accompli. It is still possible to block these developments and to induce the Obama administration to reverse itself. But doing so will require the same two things that carried the day on the photos: passion and bold congressional action.RTR.
