D.C. Is a Write Off
Generations from now researchers will crack through the glacial crust and discover the once-mighty capital of the United States under the ice. From the experience of a lifetime in the snow belt, I suggest a seat near a window, thick wool socks, tomato soup with oyster crackers, hot chocolate in a big crockery mug, and a well-illustrated seed catalog.
ReplyDeleteIt also helps to know that the rascals are busy digging out their cars too, leaving them less time than usual for mischief.
Heh. You are so right about the seed catalog. I'm going to post something pretty on the sidebar right now.
ReplyDeleteJust ordered a few cherry and pear trees. Feeling good! Thanks for the posting the flower image. Color is a wonderful thing!
ReplyDeleteNice. We used to have a peach tree that actually bore fruit but the squirrels always ate them just before they got ripe. Sometimes they'd take one bite and leave it. Grr. But the flowers were lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt's very white here. Broke the record in the DC area for snow in one winter.
