Obsession: Sen Harry Reid's wife and daughter were in a serious auto accident yesterday and we wish them full recoveries. But yes, we're surprised, as are others, that a scheduled WH health care meeting went on as scheduled, with Reid in attendance. Why didn't the WH just cancel the meeting?
Obama has postponed his family's not-a-vacation trip to Indonesia, Guam, and Australia. Instead he'll stick around Washington and focus his energies on jobs on ramming through "health care." And the family will not go along for the rescheduled trip after all. Go figure.
Jennifer Rubin comments on the Pat Caddell-Douglas Schoen advice column to Democrats:
RTR. And from another Rubin post (how does she do it?):The polls are wrong or the voters are dolts or they will learn to love it. We’ve heard some variation of each of these excuses over the past year. Perhaps Obama and the Democrats are in denial. But I think it’s more properly seen as contempt. They simply don’t care what voters think, for they know best. That’s the entire premise of ObamaCare. Voters who may be young and healthy can’t be trusted to decide to self-insure or buy cheap, high-deductible plans. Employers can’t be trusted to balance health care, salary, and other employee benefits in deciding how to compensate their employees. Consumers can’t be trusted to shop around from state to state or select the exact sort of plan they need; the government will set “minimum” standards (which include every procedure politicians deem necessary).
So should we be surprised that Democratic politicians are intent on doing this, knowing full well voters don’t want them to? Voters sense when they’re being denigrated, and the results, should ObamaCare pass, will be severe.
Obama seems not to respect his fellow citizens — the uninformed rubes who crashed the health-care town halls — nor care what they think. All his energy now is devoted to disregarding their strong aversion to his idea of health-care reform and forcing through a vote on something the public doesn’t want. It’s hard to bond with the American people, which is what Myers is suggesting, when your agenda conveys disdain for their concerns.Obama isn't interested in remaking himself, just in remaking America.
Though the Dems have been excoriated for hiding the process, the healthcare reform action is still taking place behind closed doors. The
Michelle Malkin exposes the latest instance of the Dems' use of children to push their agenda, and as is so often the case, the facts don't quite fit the spin:
Never mind that there is not a shred of evidence that any health insurer ever “abused” Marcelas. Never mind that the family has made no claim that Marcelas himself has survived without insurance (in Washington state, low-income children have been covered either through Medicaid, SCHIP, or the SCHIP expansion program Apple Health for Kids). Newsbusters is also covering the MSM’s soft-shoe coverage of the Democrats’ use of the Owens’ kiddie shield here, here, and here.Politicaljunkie Mom (Another reason to forego the Thin Mints forever) and Anne Leary (Another the reason the UN should burn in hell) chronicle the depths to which the GSA has sunk. Girls Scouts attended a UN meeting on "the status of women" and distributed a Planned Parenthood brochure "aimed at young people living with HIV [which] contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms." See the brochure, “Healthy, Happy and Hot,” for yourself. It describes itself as:
a guide for young people living with HIV to help them understand their sexual rights, and live healthy, fun, happy and sexually fulfilling lives. The guide aims to give information on how young people living with HIV can increase sexual pleasure, take care of their health, practice safer sex, have children, develop strong intimate relationships and access support. In a sane world children would be protected from the contents of this brochure. But in our world it's kids who are handing them out. Why the campaign to destroy innocence and encourage sex at every age, in every form? One answer:
Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women of America told the Friday Fax, “Governments and NGOs should be aware of Planned Parenthood’s insidious plan to work with UN agencies and girls’ organizations in order to profit from encouraging kids to be sexually active.”Another answer: the forces of evil despise innocence. Sorry to get all religious on you but I do believe that.

That page contains a video of the grand scheme to have teenaged girls fornicating and getting pregnant 'accidentally' and finally procuring abortion services.
Go Potluck girls! :D
