Video: Obama rallies for "reform"

Obama said it again today: "The time for talk is over." Ain't it the truth. Please shut up.
But he can't -- he's "fired up!" and hoping he can get his supporters to push hard for the next two weeks.

Can he speak without shaking his finger at us?

Mary Sue of Ruby Slippers was there. Click here for her photos and impressions. Excerpt:

The vast majority of the students there were there to see Obama and were just giddy. I had to laugh, however, when the President said he had to be honest the health care plan was not going to be free. You should have seen the students looking at each other. The room got quiet, which was notable since at most other times it was very loud and very hot.
Everyone knows that these rallies will change no minds at this point in the process. But I guess it's more fun that sitting around the White House with Rahm, Axelrod, Gibbs, and Michelle.

*Updated to add this Obama-quote from Fox:
"You [Republicans] had 10 years. What happened?" Obama asked at a Glenside, Pa., rally. "We've been talking about health care for nearly a century. ... We talked about it during Democratic administrations and Republican administrations. I've got all my Republican colleagues out there saying, 'Well, no, no, no. We want to focus on things like cost.'"
I don't think he helps himself by misrepresenting the history of healthcare reform efforts. But what's far worse is his dismissal, approaching mockery, of the cost issue. Is he so clueless that he can't even pay lip service to Americans' grave concerns about our economic future?

Transcript of his remarks here.

Exit question: What do these rallies cost the taxpayers?

Thanks for linking Jill. I can't say enough how staged the entire event was. It's interesting to see Obama on video, he did an awful lot of finger wagging. He certainly didn't change my mind and I did a bit of shouting hoping at least the students nearby got the message he wasn't giving them the full picture of all that was headed their way.

Where is this 10 years business comming from? Bush held the White House for 8, but Dems have been in control of the House for the past four and were a sizable part of the spending the last two years I recall.

In fact, if it was so bad that Republicans were voted out of office because they spent recklessly, they were not voted out so Democrats could spend even more recklessly. So silly us if we do think budgets matter, taxes matter and deficits matter since it is our money that will be garnished, not His.
