From Michelle Malkin:
Washington DC – Pastor Luke Quinn, Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Frederick MD, asks: “Where is President Obama? Where is Jesse Jackson? Where is Al Sharpton?”
Amen to that. From a previous post:
I have a dream. Wouldn't it be wonderful if more respected black leaders and celebrities would join the fight against this suicidal/genocidal nightmare? Imagine the good that might be done by President Obama if he believed in the sanctity of life. Imagine a pro-life Michelle Obama, fighting for the survival of black babies and promoting the black family instead of haranguing us about childhood obesity. Imagine the all-powerful Oprah taking on this cause. Why is that so clearly outside the realm of possibility? In other words, why are the Dems the party of death, and why are black Americans so devoted to those whose policies keep them down?

Kudos to all the marchers. It's very cold today in DC.

See the Anchoress for an excellent round-up of coverage and commentary.
From Msgr. Charles Pope:
The following video is a shortened version of the masterpiece video called “Genesis” by Ramos David. It magnificently depicts fetal development. I have taken the liberty of adding a different music track since this is a shortened version. The Music is William Byrd: Optimam Partem Elegit (She has Chosen the Best Part), a text most fitting since we pray all mothers will choose life.

I have a question:
ReplyDeleteBush was considered the most "pro-life" president since Reagan, yet he did little to nothing to end abortions in the US. If that's the case, why not look towards non-political ways of ending abortion, such as building pregnancy centers which will take care of the mother before AND after she has her baby? Why not get involved in community groups that would take care of women who are facing unwanted pregnancy? Isn't that a more productive way of ending abortion than pressuring politicians who will never do what they promise?
People always turn to the state to solve the ills of society, and it never works. We need to stop looking up at those who govern us and instead look to the side at those around us for answers and solutions.
Imagine what would happen to abortion if no women went to get them. A law that allows you to do something is meaningless unless you do that thing.
ReplyDeleteI had a startling thought today. All those millions of aborted black babies might have grown up to be Democratic voters! Of course I would rather have those people alive and voting for whoever they want than never having been born at all. I would much rather deal with hordes of live Democrat voters than to think of all the lives that never were. But I wonder why the Democratic party hasn't thought about this. By being so pro-abortion they are eliminating millions of their own potential voters! How just damn stupid is that? Furthermore, black folks are always wishing they had more power. Well power is numbers, right? I am sure a few million more black people would make a difference in the power of their voting block.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, why haven't these groups thought about this? Well I am going to make this point the next time any dumb as dirt Democrat progressive comes at me with their wicked genocidal pro-abort opinions.
P.s. I am sure someone way smarter than me thought of this long before me but I the thought is new to me anyway.
