I stole that from Jim Geraghty:
Harwood on CNBC: "A very disappointing jobs report for the Obama administration." Plus, you know, American workers. But yes, the news is brutal for Obama. Drudge links:
Just 80,000 jobs added in June...
One-third at temp agencies...
85,000 WENT ON DISABILITY IN JUNE!
Unemployment rate for blacks jumps to 14.4%...
Rate stuck at 11% for Hispanics...
780,000 Fewer Women Employed Under Obama...
WHITE HOUSE: 'NO QUICK FIXES'...
Romney: 'It Doesn't Have To Be This Way'...
Anxiety mounts as economy limps into 2nd half...
DOW PLUNGES...
Team Obama predicted 5.6% today with stimulus...
IMF to cut global growth forecast...
'Tilted to the downside'...
Geraghty:
But Americans should really be tired of an administration that always has new excuses: “This recession turned out to be a lot deeper than any of us realized,” “a string of bad luck,” “the Japanese earthquake” “an Arab Spring” “economic headwinds from Europe” “uncertainty from the debt-ceiling debate” “globalization” “automation” “ATMs,” and so on.Dear voters: Please try not to be so stupid next time. Thanks.
Secondly, how much faith should they have in Democratic ideas to spur job creation when Democrats spent much of 2009, 2010, and 2011 insisting the economy was already fixed?

ICYMI in Drudge links above: Worst numbers of all?
More workers joined the federal government's disability program in June than got new jobs, according to two new government reports, a clear indicator of how bleak the nation's jobs picture is after three full years of economic recovery. It seems something highly contagious and crippling is going around at the unemployment office. From Hope and Change to Hopelessness and 'Disability.' But Obama says the report is a step in the right direction, chumps.
The economy created just 80,000 jobs in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. But that same month, 85,000 workers left the workforce entirely to enroll in the Social Security Disability Insurance program, according to the Social Security Administration.

Oh dear. The Obama administration advises us not to "read too much into one monthly jobs report." For the 30th time!
Sometimes I think he just doesn't respect us, you know?

When is the WH scheduled to release their excuse for this?
ReplyDeleteIf somebody trots out the standard "It's all Bush's fault!" excuse, smack them with this:
ReplyDeleteOK, if it's all Bush's fault, Obama has been unable to do anything about it. Why do you think another four years will be any different?
And if they come back with the "Republican obstructionism" trope, ask them:
The democrats passed the stimulus, Obamacare, and Dodd-Frank, all of which were supposed to produce jobs immediately. Where are they?
Not bad news. Great news. 56% of families are impacted by some kind of federal program. That is enough people to get reelected, which is what this is all about. Obama hopes we are like Italy, France, Germany and Greece and our selfishness and greed will be the motivation when we pull the voting lever.
ReplyDeleteI hope he's wrong. But that is what happened in Europe.
Is it time to shoot the horse yet? (D'ya think that one will earn me a Secret Service visit?)
