Two rules of thumb: 1) Every Obama administration disaster, any one of which would have roused the liberal media into a feeding frenzy had it occurred during a Republican administration, is ignored or whitewashed by those "journalists," and 2) the disasters always turn out to be even worse than they originally appeared. Fast and Furious is no exception. But don't depend on old-school media to become overly interested in this bombshell of a story: Univision report connects Operation Fast and Furious scandal to murders of Mexican teenagers
“On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez,” according to a version of the Univision report in English, on the ABC News website.I guess none of those 14 kids killed or 12 injured looked enough like Obama's hypothetical sons to matter? The preview to the Univision report:
“Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.”
Citing a Mexican Army document it obtained and published, Univision reported that “[t]hree of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).”
Does anyone care?

Many thanks to Michelle Malkin, Creative Minority Report, and Mark Steyn for linking to this post. Steyn:
So the Left’s it’s-different-when-we-do-it card applies not just to unmanned drones on Waziristani villagers, but Mexican adolescents gunned down at a birthday party. Would it be too much to ask one of the Pulitzer-laden bores at the New York Times or the Emmy-garlanded chaps at the network news divisions to look into this? Oh, no, wait! Look, over there! The coolest president ever is doing a photo-op with Beyonce!***

Oh, my heavens. Imagine had this happened to a party of students in Memphis, New Orleans, Topeka, Eugene; and then it was discovered that ATF had supplied the weapons to the gang members to find out what would happen if gang members were supplied with weapons...
ReplyDeleteMy concern is that one fine day we will wake up and read of such a horror occurring in a small town in Oklahoma or Nebraska.
Thanks for sharing this story with us.
Mexicans only matter to the Left when they are living in the U.S. and plan to vote for Obama.
ReplyDeleteI have friends who fit that description: who believe Obama can do no wrong ... at least nothing of substance. Yet, they were the first to screech like banshees over anything Bush did (Disclaimer: I thought Bush was almost as bad a President as Obama.)
ReplyDeleteNow it so happens that both friends work for institutions that get their funding in large part from the federal government, so a vote for Obama is a vote for job security for both of them, although I am sure neither would categorize it that way.

So, if an underage Mexican citizen is turned away from a US polling place for being a) underage and b) a citizen of a different country, we are hate-spewing racists. Bit if underage Mexican citizens are murdered over drug turf by gangsters armed by a Democratic administration's program, those arming the killers are humanitarian representatives of a more reasoned, compassionate future. No wonder the Party line is so hard to memorize.
