Pro-abort "Catholics" to represent US at Papal Mass

Perfect:

The White House announced that Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi will be representing America at the pope's inaugural mass. Both Biden and Pelosi are Catholics and pro-abortion.
Will they be receiving Holy Communion? If so, it won't jibe too well with this statement:
In the Aparecida Document, a document that represents a joint statement by Latin American church leaders but presented by Francis in 2007, the leaders stated, “we should commit ourselves to ‘eucharistic coherence,’ that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act or speak against the commandments, in particular when abortions, euthanasia, and other serious crimes against life and family are facilitated. This responsibility applies particularly to legislators, governors, and health professionals.”
We'll see. Apparently Mrs. Pelosi, in her unlimited arrogance, is undaunted by her previous run-in with a pope.

Speaking of papal run-ins: Report: Pope Francis bans disgraced Cardinal Law from his church…

Lots of confusion here about what actually happened, but if the first version is basically accurate, here's hoping Pope Francis is just warming up (cough Mahoney cough).

Update: The Vatican denies the Cardinal Law story.

  1. Hello Jill:

For anyone interested, there's a White House Petition for this very thing:

  2. Jill,

After reading that excerpt, I really really want to see Biden and Pelosi try to take Communion.

  3. Perhaps Pope Francis will opt, when Biden and Pelosi present themselves to receive Holy Communion, to give them a pointed and loving blessing instead.

    1. How will he even know of them???? I understand he does not even speak English muchless to be super aware of the political landscape in the US? Even if he does know of these heretical ones, will he recognize their faces? They will use the situation to set him up perhaps.

But God is not mocked and one day they WILL undergo His judgement.

  4. Wouldn't Biden and Pelosi presenting themselves for Holy Communion be a willful sacrilege at the Papal Mass?? Shouldn't someone from USA warn the Vatican that this is being planned??

  5. A fitting audience for this this pope.

  6. I suspect that the Catholic, pro-abort politicians will line up; actually be allowed; given the Holy Eucharist and afterwards, some spokesperson for the Vatican will pass if off as a mistake. Nothing is changing! These pro-aborts from America are virtually never barred or even challenged..... and God help the poor priest that would dare deny these heretics the Holy Eucharist.

  7. Judgements - hope you all confess and ask for forgiveness for judging others before you receive communion!

    1. We are not to judge the interior condition of another, but we can certainly judge their actions. In fact, we must judge their actions. Scripture says that if we see our brother sinning, we must correct him. Also, admonishing the sinner is one of the spiritual works of mercy.
Let me judge your words (not you). This kind of wrong-headed response and sloppy thinking is what confuses people and is the foundation of the politically correct nonsense that people often spout when speaking of their opposition to abortion (personally opposed but...), and other moral evils. Please start judging actions, not the disposition of the person. I think I can say on good authority that to consistently support abortion (the willful murder of a pre-born human being) and "same sex marriage" (legalized, institutionalized sodomy), is seriously sinful. The person (politician included) who supports such evils in a public way promotes public scandal, perverts the morals of the young, confuses the morally weak, and should be denied communion (the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ) until they publicly repent, recant their prior support of such evil, and confess their sins in the sacrament of Confession (Reconciliation).
