The White House announced that Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi will be representing America at the pope's inaugural mass. Both Biden and Pelosi are Catholics and pro-abortion.Will they be receiving Holy Communion? If so, it won't jibe too well with this statement:
In the Aparecida Document, a document that represents a joint statement by Latin American church leaders but presented by Francis in 2007, the leaders stated, “we should commit ourselves to ‘eucharistic coherence,’ that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act or speak against the commandments, in particular when abortions, euthanasia, and other serious crimes against life and family are facilitated. This responsibility applies particularly to legislators, governors, and health professionals.”We'll see. Apparently Mrs. Pelosi, in her unlimited arrogance, is undaunted by her previous run-in with a pope.
Speaking of papal run-ins: Report: Pope Francis bans disgraced Cardinal Law from his church…
Lots of confusion here about what actually happened, but if the first version is basically accurate, here's hoping Pope Francis is just warming up (cough Mahoney cough).
Update: The Vatican denies the Cardinal Law story.
